I got super excited when I started noticing that "large and in charge/ somewhat loud and obnoxious" earrings came back in style! I have ALWAYS loved snazzy ear wear.. which lead to this particular post.
I am not much of a "how to" person, but when it comes to pairing earrings to outfits, I feel like I could make your life just a little easier with a few tips and tricks. I linked most all of these earrings for you guys as well, just click over to "shop my instagram" tab and it will take you right to them/and some similar styles of the ones I couldn't find specifically. Just for fun, I did want to give you a little insight into how my brain works when styling outfits with earrings. I like to consider the following:
1. OFF SETTING. I chose this word because it is a good way to remember- if you have a LOUD shirt/dress/outfit in general, it's usually good to off set the WOW with a simple accessory. There are a few exceptions, but I personally like to live by this rule of thumb when planning an outfit. If you're wearing a colorful pattern, pick a color from the pattern and wear a fun earring in that shade.
2. DON'T BE TOO MATCHY. It's trending right now to put color on color. If you are wearing a solid bright dress... maybe throw in another pop of color in an earring (or even necklace). OR if you have a multi-color earring that compliments, a solid shirt/dress, throw that on for pop. Another great way to pop a neutral color is to throw on a fun/loud/colorful earring to step up your look a little, too.
3. DON'T OVER DO IT. Some people like loading on the accessories, but I am a bit weird about wearing "too much". Pairing a statement necklace with statement earrings isn't my favorite. I like to make ONE things pop as a focal point of my look. When you muddle your outfit up with too many accessories, it kind of screams... "HI I COULDN'T MAKE UP MY MIND WHAT TO WEAR SO I THREW ON MY WHOLE JEWELRY BOX"- (in my opinion of course) you do you, though.
These are a few rules of thumb I like to go by when styling, all of this is simply personal preference by the way. I'm just over here "doing me" and sharing it with ya. Thanks for stopping by!
